Week 1 (April 13-19, 2021) of the 2021 DPC Season 2: Upper Division witnessed the return of regional Dota 2 action after some thrilling international battle at the Singapore Major. We saw renovated squads like OG and Team Nigma, with a renewed zeal, open their 2021 DPC Season 2 account with comprehensive victories. On the other hand, teams like T1 and Natus Vincere, who had been bundled by health and roster difficulties a few days ago, struggled in their opening matches in their respective regions. 1. Southeast Asia (SEA)

BOOM Esports and Omega Esports occupy the top spots after winning their opening two encounters. TNC Predator also won their only series against Execration in the first week. T1’s loss to Omega Esports was the major upset of the SEA 2021 DPC Season 1: Upper Division as Kuku and his teammates looked out of form. OB.Neon and Fnatic are yet to play their first series.

2. Europe (EU)

OG’s win against Brame with ana back into the active lineup was the highlight of the first week. Team Nigma, with iLTW replacing w33, also registered an upset by defeating Team Secret 2-0. Alliance’s 2-1 win over Team Liquid was the most hard-fought series, while Tundra Esports’ defeat against Brame was also a minor upset.

3. China

None of the teams that competed at the Singapore Major was involved in the first week as the Chinese region witnessed only three series. Royal Never Give Up emerged stronger against Sparkling Arrow Gaming, beating them 2-0, but they lost to EHOME 2-1. EHOME vs Elephant was the most anticipated series of the region that the former could convincingly win 2-0.
