  • Na'Vi's coach Mag stated that though everything seemed positive in the team from the outside, they had a lot of internal issues.
  • Na'Vi's performance had gone drastically downhill and so they acquired RAMZES666 because they needed a leader and a shot-caller, the members mentioned.
  • Na’Vi will be seen in action from April 13, 2021, when the CIS 2021 DPC Season 2: Upper Division begins. GeneRaL has communicated that he would not be playing in this second DPC season.

After being criticized by fans for kicking Viktor "GeneRaL" Nigrini, Na’Vi released a video on YouTube explaining the reasons behind their recent roster change. Coach, Andrey "Mag" Chipenko, support/position five player, Andrii "ALWAYSWANNAFLY" Bondarenko, and carry player, Alik "V-Tune" Vorobey, mentioned that though everything seemed positive in the team from the outside, they had a lot of internal issues. Additionally, they mentioned that Na’Vi had also been delivering below-par performances in recent scrims (losing 39 of their last 40 scrims) and felt they could not acquire the desired results in the coming time with this roster. In Roman "RAMZES666" Kushnarev, their new offlaner, Na’Vi members saw a leader and a person who could guide the team in-game - which is why they decided to welcome him in place of GeneRaL. This video statement by Na’Vi comes after GeneRaL had alleged that the team had kicked him behind his back like “rats” without offering any adequate reasons.

Na’Vi members mention the reasons behind GeneRaL’s removal from the team

GeneRaL was replaced by RAMZES666 on April 4, 2021. The move was questioned by many in the Dota 2 community as Na’Vi had not delivered any bad performances in recent times.

On April 7, 2021, GeneRal, in a series of Instagram stories, had then put forward his side of the story. The Ukrainian had said that three players and coach, Mag, were involved in his kick. In addition, he mentioned that when this team, then known as FlyToMoon, was recruited by Na’Vi, everybody had sworn that nobody from this roster would be kicked regardless of what happens, until the International.

Na’Vi’s members, Mag, V-Tune, and ALWAYSWANNAFLY have now responded to their former offlaner’s statements.

When the FlyToMoon roster was initially signed on a temporary basis in September 2020, Mag had been sitting on the team’s inactive roster. He mentioned in the video statement that when he returned (in November 2020), there were already “certain disagreements and conflicts going on.” Though everything regarding the team appeared rosy to the community, it was not the case internally, Mag added.

Mag stated that though the team had done well in tournaments like OGA Dota Pit S4 and ESL One Germany 2020, they always had internal issues.

Mag mentioned that when the team played with RAMZES666 as a stand-in (potentially during scrims at Na’Vi was unable to play at the Singapore Major), they felt more comfortable.

“Our main issue was that we didn’t have a shot-caller and a leader. RAMZES666 came across as one to everyone. The team went for it because they didn’t believe they could succeed and nothing indicated they would. It wasn’t about making it to TI because the chance was already there, but rather about us not functioning as a team this whole time.”

ALWAYSWANNAFLY also stated:

“GeneRaL repeatedly stated during the bootcamp (that) he wanted to leave the team if things stayed bad, we kept playing poorly and the atmosphere remained negative.”

The support player mentioned that the team’s performance in recent times had gone downhill, losing 39 out of 40 scrims and that GeneRaL and RodjER often had conflicts.

“It was decided to bring in RAMZES666 as a replacement for GeneRaL for the sake of the team because otherwise, we would disband right in the middle of the tournament.”

Mag then reiterated his point stating that the team lacked a leader and a shot-caller and so, RAMZES666 seemed like the best option after playing with him. He stated that GeneRaL’s kick was not fair but added that a team needs to make tough decisions for better results.

So according to Mag’s statements, RAMZES666 is not only the team’s new recruit but also their new captain. Na’Vi will be seen in action from April 13, 2021, when the CIS 2021 DPC Season 2: Upper Division begins. On the other hand, GeneRaL, who currently sits on the inactive roster of Na’Vi, had communicated that he would not be playing in this second DPC season.
