Spectre Arcana’s release may be on the horizon as information regarding it has appeared in Dota 2 files. After the new player experience update on March 25, 2021, data miners have been able to find new information that mentions “DOTA_CM_Spectre_Arcana_ChooseTarget = 392.” In addition to the coveted Arcana, data leaks also suggest that Hoodwink, who is the only hero without an Aghanim’s Scepter and Shard, will be getting the two items soon. Valve had announced with the new player experience update that a new hero, as well as patch 7.29, would be released on April 9, 2021. So, one can expect the Spectre Arcana and the Aghanim’s addition to Hoodwink on the same date.
Data Miners find Spectre Arcana and Hoodwink Aghanim’s Scepter, Shard evidence in files.
Reddit user, u/Tbockly, was one of the first ones to highlight Spectre Arcana’s mention in Dota 2 files.
A Telegram group, DOTA_DM, found evidence of not only the cosmetic but also Hoodwink’s Aghanim’s Shard and Scepter. This was shared on Reddit by u/muk_as.
Images of the hero’s new skills, as a result of the Scepter and the Shard, were portrayed. The two skills are potentially named “Heavy Quiver” and “Hunters Boomerang.”
The files also indicate an upcoming Spring event as a “Spring Meteor” model was mentioned in the files.
Additionally, chances for a Spring event release are high as previous data leaks have already talked about it. In January 2021, a shooter based Spring event was also discovered in Dota 2 files. Named as “Spring2021”, it was speculated that this would be a custom game mode that would have guns, ammo, bombs, and other elements of a shooter game, like CS:GO.
While Valve has already communicated that a new hero and the 7.29 patch are going to be released on April 9, 2021, it will be intriguing to see if Dota 2 fans are in for a treat with a surprise Spectre Arcana or a Spring event revelation.
