Valve’s Majors Registration Page Roster Change: Abat Leaves Cignal Ultra

Abat’s departure from Cignal Ultra comes after playing as the team’s carry since January 2020 when he had replaced Filipino veteran, Nando. However, he did not enjoy a lot of success during this period as the only major accomplishment was qualifying for the 2021 DPC Season 1. Their best runs came at tournaments like Law of Inertia League, SEA Dota Invitational 2020 and Cyber.bet Cup: Spring Series - SEA where they secured the runner-up spots.

Cignal Ultra’s roster after Abat’s departure:

  1. TBD
  2. James "Jamsey" John
  3. Van "Van" Manalaysay
  4. Erice "Erice" Guerra
  5. Jomari "Grimzx" Ani

On January 9, Abat had posted on Facebook that he was looking for a new team in the midst of Stage 2 of the closed qualifier of the DPC. However, he deleted that Facebook post later and then went on to play for the team throughout the whole DPC season.

Valve’s rules require a team to play with the same roster in the qualifiers as well as the main DPC league and a stand-in is permitted only up to four matches. Abat might have been playing for Cignal Ultra because of this rule.

SEA has already started to experience roster shuffles with the culmination of the 2021 DPC Season. Recently, Execration announced the addition of former Vice Esports’ carry, Palos, and Filipino player, Nando and parted ways with midlaner, Ken and offlaner, Rupido. As per Valve’s Majors Registration page, all Vice Esports’ players have left the squad although there has not been any confirmation regarding this from the organization itself.
