Yesterday, Evil Geniuses (EG) registered its third consecutive victory in the Upper Division of NA-DPC 2021 S1 by crushing Black N Yellow 2-0. Andreas Franck "Cr1t-" Nielsen was invited for the post-match winners’ interview where he praised their new offlaner, iceiceice and talked about the experience of playing with him in the lane.

Cr1t- talks about iceiceice’s hero flexibility and his X-Factor

EG’s win over Black N Yellow yesterday was the most convincing one of their three victories in the tournament as they overpowered their opponents. In game 2 of the series, iceiceice played an unconventional Silencer in the offlane and had an even more unorthodox item build as he picked up three Witch Blades.

While mentioning how good of a Silencer game it was, Cr1t- stated that iceiceice felt that he had a very diverse hero pool, and as a result, the team could draft any hero for him.

“I think Daryl (iceiceice) is the type of player that can play pretty much every hero in the game, at least he thinks so himself, so it is very easy to draft for him. He is never really scared of playing anything that comes his way, so it’s very easy for me to lane with him as well. If I have some idea about what my heroes need for the lane, he will always be ready for it.”

After being asked about the difference in playing with iceiceice and other offlaners in the past, Cr1t- while appreciating the Singaporean’s knowledge of the game, stated that he was more like an X-factor as compared to conventional offlaners in the past like s4 and Universe.

“It’s very different from what I have had previously. I would say the most similar offlaner that I have played with is probably Moon (MoonMeander in OG), and that was a while back in terms of style. Other than that, both s4 and Universe, were both very conservative in a way. They play the traditional heroes, and they do their job. You can always rely on them.

Daryl is more like an X-factor in a way, and I think that’s a good thing to have, but he is also reliable.

It’s very easy for us. If we need something in a game from him, he will know. He doesn’t really need to be told if he needs to be that X-factor or if he needs to be the stable aura, teamfight offlaner. He is very knowledgeable and understands the different roles."
