A Dota 2 fan created a new version of the popular board game, Monopoly, themed on Dota 2. The innovative version of the game was shared by the user on Reddit involving intriguing custom cards, properties, and a Dota 2 map based playing board.

A Reddit user with the name u/rocz24 drew a customized playing board of Monopoly based on Dota 2’s map that involved a central river and the jungle areas.

Playing cards were also created with interesting instructions like “Kunkka x-marked you! Go back 3 spaces” and “You need to smoke gank! Pay 15 gold.”

The properties system that exists in the original Monopoly game was replaced with an “items” system. Players can buy items like Shadow Blade, Butterfly, and BKB, etc.

Instead of the houses that a player puts on the properties purchased in the original Monopoly game, outposts and runes from the Dota 2 universe were present. A player could buy and put these outposts and runes on top of their items (that replaced properties) to increase the rent that an opponent would pay.

Dota 2 fans were quite receptive to this Dota 2 themed monopoly board.

In the past, popular Dota 2 host Jake "SirActionSlacks" Kanner had also made a customized card game based on Dota 2 during Kyiv Major in 2017. The game titled Kundalini was quite a favorite for the fans who clamored for Valve to sell the game to the public in the TI Secret Shops.

Who knows? Perhaps it would have done better than the Artifact card game.
