  • Fillipino organization, Adroit Esports, has released its Dota 2 roster and support staff as they put an end to all of the organization's working.
  • The reason for this tough decision has been attributed the problems posed by the ongoing pandemic. Adroit had also released their Valorant roster earlier due to the same reason.
  • Adroit Esports is the third SEA Dota 2 team after Geek Fam and Reality Rift that has disbanded in this online era of esports.

In another disheartening news for the SEA Dota 2 fans, Adroit Esports has released its Dota 2 roster and all of their support staff as they have decided to shut down all their operations. This move comes after the organization in a shocker move had released their VALORANT roster as well in August 2020 only two months after their formation in June, despite the team doing extremely well.

Adroit Esports Releases Its Dota 2 Roster And Ceases Operations

Adroit Esports, in a very surprising move, has dropped its Dota 2 roster and has also terminated all contractual obligations with the support staff. The reason for this tough decision has been the financial problems posed by the global health crisis, the Filipino organization announced through their Facebook handle.

The organization stated that despite its players and staff making a lot of sacrifices and the team winning some titles, the organization could not cope up with the financial stress of the ongoing pandemic.

The Dota 2 roster of Adroit Esports was doing considerably well as a new team and had even won a few Tier 2/3 tournaments. Their performances at Tier 1 online stage were also decent with a spot at MDL Chengdu Major and runner-ups at ESL One LA Major Online. Their results had become a little disappointing in recent times, perhaps to their multiple roster changes. Still, in their 1.5 years of working, the organization had managed to win an approximate sum of $168,123 from the tourneys.

This news is disheartening for the SEA Dota 2 fans as this is the third team after Geek Fam and Reality Rift who have decided to disband their rosters. All these teams have cited the incessant barrage of financial issues that this health crisis seems to be throwing at the organizations which have to lead to a lot of uncertainty regarding player and organization income in the esports world.

Postponement of DPC 2020-21 adds to this trouble and as a result of all this, it has become extremely tough for players to find and play for a team as we see a number of free agents now exist in SEA Dota 2. Team Unique in CIS and CR4ZY in NA are the other teams that have become a victim of this long drawn issue.
