A comeback for Forev and QO

Forev and QO were a part of the legendary MVP Phoenix squad that had impressive runs in the TI5 - TI6 period. They placed 7-8th in TI5 and 5-6th in TI6. They also secured a first place finish at the Dota Pit League Season 4 in 2016 where they defeated TI5 champions Evil Geniuses in the grand finals. The team disbanded in 2017 after the players split into various teams. The players got back together in September 2017 under the Immortals banner but did not find substantial success and disbanded later. While Forev recently played for T1, QO switched between a sub and coach for the Australian squad, Team Oracle. Now, for the first time since 2017, Forev and QO have reunited with their Ex-MVP Phoenix coach Wong "NutZ" Jeng Yih to form a team with ex-Reality Rift support player Ravdan "Hustla" Narmandakh and a young face Jonas “ Nasjo” Samonte. NutZ last captained Reality Rift before the team disbanded on September 1, 2020.

Their team Phantasm will be playing in the Moon Studio Mid-Autumn League involving many teams from China and Southeast Asia. In their Southeast Asian group, BOOM Esports, Motivate.Trust Gaming and Neon Esports will be teams to look out for, owing to their recent strong performances at the BTS Pro Series 3: Southeast Asia. It will be interesting to see how the stack of Forev and QO pans out as they have an excellent combo of experience and talent in their team. The two have put up some excellent performances on the main stage in the past.

Phantasm’s final roster:

  1. Kim "QO" Sun Yeob

  2. Jonas “ Nasjo” Samonte

  3. Lee "Forev" Sang-don

  4. Ravdan "Hustla" Narmandakh

  5. Wong "NutZ" Jeng Yih

In a time where we are seeing a lot of teams shutting down their active rosters because of the uncertainty of the DPC 2020-21 and the resulting lack of tournaments, it will be intriguing to see if this Phantasm squad will look to stick together in case they deliver a strong performance at the Moon Studio Mid-Autumn League.
