In an unexpected move, Valve released the 7.27d patch for Dota 2 nerfing multiple overpowered heroes who have been seen frequently in the professional Dota 2 scene, like the Doom, Dark Seer, Magnus, Spectre and more. Consequently, some of the weaker heroes like Luna and Bloodseeker also received significant buffs.
The patch also features minor balances to a few items including the Drums of Endurance, Heaven’s Halberd, and Helm of the Dominator.
The 7.27d patch consists of changes to 4 items and 29 heroes. Many of the are very minor changes that are unlikely to affect the game significantly. However, some of these changes are quite significant. Here are the changes that we think will affect the game the most.
PIT OF MALICE
The biggest winners of this patch according to Dotabuff are actually Medusa and Mars who received Minor buffs on paper. This just shows how much of a delicately balanced game Dota 2 actually is, when small changes have such a big influence on the winrates of these heroes.
