Talon Esports’ Nuengnara "23savage" Teeramahanon explained in an interview with Ulti Agency how his experience has helped him become calmer and more mature.
Using an example, 23savage mentioned that was scared to face Nigma Galaxy's Amer "Miracle-" Al-Barkawi for the first time, but he no longer cared about such aspects.
Furthermore, 23savage discussed BOOM Esports' recent win at the Gamers Galaxy 2022, explaining how their quick understanding of the meta has helped them gain a competitive advantage.

While still a young player by age, Talon Esports’ Nuengnara "23savage" Teeramahanon has gained quite a bit of experience in the Southeast Asia (SEA) Dota 2 scene through stints with popular teams such as Fnatic, T1, and presently Talon Esports. As 23savage explained in an interview with Ulti Agency, he has grown as a Dota 2 player through this experience. While he was overhyped in his early days when he used to be scared to play against some of the household names in competitive Dota 2, he is calmer and more mature now. Furthermore, 23savage discussed BOOM Esports' recent top performances, explaining how their quick understanding of the meta has helped the team.

23savage says he has become a more mature and calmer Dota 2 player

23savage started out his competitive Dota 2 career in 2018 and around four years down the line, he feels, after playing with the best teams in SEA and against the best teams in the world, that he has become a matured and confident Dota 2 player now. As 23savage reminisced about how scared he felt when he played against Nigma Galaxy’s Amer "Miracle-" Al-Barkawi for the first time, he said that this feeling was no longer present.

“I think I am calmer now but before I [was] kind of overhyped when I play[ed]. But right now I feel I am more mature and calm. I have more confidence also. Because I remember the first time I played against Miracle-, I was like - Oh my God! It’s Miracle-. So scared. But right now, I don’t really care.”

With his reputation as a high ranking pub player and his talent, 23savage rose up the ranks rather quickly after beginning his competitive Dota 2 journey with Alpha Blue in 2018. As a member of Fnatic in 2019 and 2020 and then T1 in 2021, the player participated in the biggest Dota 2 tournaments. As a member of T1, he also played at his first The International in 2021, when the team finished in a respectable 7-8th place.

23savage ascribes BOOM Esports' success at the Gamers Galaxy to its ability to understand the meta quickly

In his interview with Ulti Agency, 23savage also shed light on BOOM Esports' recent top form when responding to the question of whether underdog teams have an advantage with new patches. 23savage believes that BOOM Esports was the fastest to discover the meta, hence their success at the Gamers Galaxy 2022. However, he thinks the more established teams will become more competitive over time.

“As you can see, BOOM Esports jumped expectations a lot and I feel it does really matter because the one who can find the meta first will win the tournament just like BOOM did. So, as time goes on, the big teams will slowly discover the meta, it will be more competitive.”

BOOM Esports won the Gamers Galaxy 2022 tournament in March, which had some of the best teams from around the world competing. The event took place on 24th Feb, ten days after the main 7.31 patch was released.

23savage is currently doing really well with Talon Esports in Division 2 as the team has won five series in a row, each by a 2-0 margin. Talon has high chances to qualify for Division 1 in the next season, along with RSG, which has a similar record.
