23savage Talks About Differences in His Experiences With T1 and Fnatic
Following his experience as a carry player for two of SEA's top Dota 2 teams - Fnatic and T1, 23savage compared his time in the teams. Nuengnara "23savage" Teeramahanon believes that his feelings were different in the two cases as his current team T1 is more of a friendship-based team as opposed to Fnatic, which was more professional. Nonetheless, when he was on the squad, he thinks Fnatic was on the right path and could have achieved something significant if the pandemic had not interfered. 23savage discussed this in the Position 6 podcast by Daniel "MrBigJams" Offen, where he also expressed appreciation for T1's coach, Park "March" Tae-won.
23savage talks about the time spent at Fnatic; compares its team atmosphere with T1
23savage had a rough start with his first big professional team, Fnatic, finishing 9th-12th at two Majors, the MDL Chengdu Major and the DreamLeague Season 13. They went on to win four tournaments afterward, including the DOTA Summit 12, ESL One Los Angeles 2020 - Online: Southeast Asia, BTS Pro Series: Southeast Asia, and ESL One Birmingham 2020 - Online: Southeast Asia. Talking about this time, 23savage said,
I think I am happy (with the time at Fnatic). The first two Majors weren’t that good. We got 12th place two Majors in a row but after we played at the Summit, everything became better. But you know COVID couldn’t make us play more tournaments. I am kinda disappointed because I really think that roster could have won something more.”23savage
The difference 23savage sees between Fnatic and T1 revolves around friendship and professionalism.
In Fnatic it was like - we have more experienced players but in this team (T1), I feel like we really love playing with each other. They are more friendship team, this T1 team I mean. Different feelings I think, Fnatic is like a “professional worker” but in T1, it is like “Friend Dota.’’23savage
23savage highlights the importance of March in his career development
Another interesting topic discussed in this podcast was 23savage's explanation of how March has been an integral part of his evolution over time.
He (March) has been helping me a lot through the bad times I have been having. Without him, life is really hard. He is a big part of the team. He helps me a lot, personally and mechanically also. He is a good friend and he can help everyone because he is the most major guy on the team, I think. He is like a dad. (laughs) He has helped me with everything he could.”23savage
23savage stated that LANs used to excite him too much when he was with Fnatic, which negatively impacted his performance. March has also helped him tone down this excitement, which has positively impacted his performance.
Furthermore, he said the SEA region is not weak and has talented individuals, but they lack consistency and experience. 23savage believes that more people like March in the scene can help make this situation better.

After scrambling for options for two months, 23savage joined T1 in March 2021. 23savage has had a successful experience with T1 so far, as the only team from Southeast Asia to qualify directly for TI10. The SEA team is currently on a break before returning to bootcamp for TI10.
