Highlights
Esports organization 1win announced its entry into tournament organizing starting with a special one for Dota 2.
Called 1win Series Dota 2 Spring, this event will be hosting some of the biggest talents in the competitive scene.

Dota 2 is one of the biggest esports titles in the world with so many teams competing at the highest possible level. In 2023, Valve, Dota 2’s publisher, did away with its long-standing Dota Pro Circuit (DPC), a year-long circuit of tournaments that has been the bedrock of competitive Dota 2. Valve believed that this change would empower it to better nurture the competitive ecosystem and lay the foundation for a more sustainable future for Dota 2. This also meant that different tournament organizers had the flexibility and opportunity to propel the game’s esports scene without any hindrance.

One such entertaining and action-packed tournament is going to be 1win’s Dota 2 series, 1win Series Dota 2 Spring, hosting some of the biggest talents in the competitive scene. Scheduled between 16th and 19th March, this tournament will host a total of eight teams, who will vie for the lion’s share of the $100,000 USD prize pool.

Here’s everything you need to know about the 1win Series Dota 2 Spring tournament.

The eight teams are split into two groups of four, with each team taking part in a double-elimination single-round robin bracket. This stage of the tournament will only feature best-of-ones (BO1s) and takes up the GSL format. The top two teams in each group will advance to the playoffs. Notably, the playoffs (18th and 19th March) will also be a double-elimination bracket. However, teams will have to win best-of-threes (BO3s) and only the grand finale will be a best-of-five (BO5).
