YEKINDAR Rounds Out Team Liquid's CS:GO Team for BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2022
Plans for a long-term agreement are still being discussed.
Team Liquid has confirmed its CS:GO roster for the upcoming BLAST Premier: Fall Groups 2022 with the addition of Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis, who will be acting as a stand-in for the North American organization for yet another tournament.
This comes as no surprise with Liquid already having played with YEKINDAR at the IEM Cologne 2022 where it managed to secure a 5th-6th position, showcasing one of its best performances so far this season.
Many in the community were disappointed that Liquid was taking so much time signing the talented entry fragger, but Steve "jokasteve" Perino who is the General Manager for Team Liquid has confirmed that they are trying to work on a "good long-term" deal with YEKINDAR and will hopefully have something positive soon.
YEKINDAR to compete with Team Liquid at BLAST Premier: Fall Groups 2022
The North American organization is all set for the upcoming BLAST Premier: Fall Groups 2022, scheduled to take place from 19th to 28th August.
Once again Liquid will be stepping out with YEKINDAR assisting the team break into a site, providing them with a structured playbook to follow, and providing crucial inputs when strategizing plays on the move.
The 22-year-old has already helped the team during its tour to Cologne, Germany where they qualified for the playoffs, attaining its best result in the 2022 season thus far.
For his contributions to the success of this lineup, all the players on Liquid praised the Latvian for quickly becoming a part of the team and working hard across roles to help them elevate their overall gameplay.
As a result, Liquid has gone ahead and added him to its roster once again for the upcoming tournament. However, he is still playing as a temporary player and has not been given a permanent slot in the team's active lineup which has infuriated some of the fans.
The expectations were that Liquid would continue monitoring him through the player break and then announce him as part of the team to turn things around in the next half of the season. Unfortunately, it seems some part of the deal is still being discussed as YEKINDAR continues to be under contract with the Russian esports organization, Virtus.pro.
YEKINDAR is still transfer listed and hopefully Liquid will be able to sign him permanently with a solid long-term contract. For now, the Team Liquid CS:GO roster is as follows,
Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski - Rifler
Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis - Rifler
Keith "NAF" Markovic - Rifler
Joshua "oSee" Ohm - AWP
Nicholas "nitr0" Cannella - IGL
Damian "daps" Steele - Coach
