[Watch] Xyp9x Wins 1v2 Clutch With a 200 IQ Bait on Overpass
The clutch minister is in top form.
Astralis has been doing well since swapping Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander with Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth. After qualifying for BLAST Premier: Fall Finals 2021, the team has started off really well at the last RMR (Regional major Rankings) tournament IEM Fall 2021: Europe. The Danish lineup is currently leading Group-B after winning three straight matches, handing defeats to END, Movistar Riders, and Heroic.
A big reason for their success has been Xyp9x finding his rhythm and securing some tight clutches for the side. The 26-year-old has put on some highlight worthy plays, the best one so far being his 1v2 clutch against END on Overpass in their opening match of the tournament.
Xyp9x bamboozles opposition with a 200 IQ bait to secure a 1v2 clutch
The clutch minister is back in form, helping the side of Astralis remain undefeated to the extent of them standing on top of their groups with a '3-0' scoreline. Xyp9x was in prime form against END on Overpass as he calmly went on to do his thing in a 1v2 clutch situation, by baiting the opposition hard with an unorthodox plant.
Finding himself against two players in the 13th round, Xyp9x calmly recovered the C4 and then baited the opposition into thinking that the plant was being committed within the site. But in reality, the Dane opted to go for an open plant beside the pillar and took advantage of the enemies passiveness to quickly shift his position, gaining the upper hand.
Due to the element of surprise in his favor alongside having a clear idea of where the defenders might come from, the clutch minister easily converted the tense situation into an easy victory.
Xyp9x did not miss a beat while executing this flawless play. He secured the C4, threw the opposition off with an unorthodox plant, quickly switched his position to catch them off-guard, and won the round for his side to further extend their lead.
Astralis have to play to more matches in their group namely against Complexity Gaming and Sinners Esports. It will be interesting to see if they continue to reign in their bracket by going undefeated all the way.
