The Esports Awards 2022: CS:GO Nominated for Esports Game of the Year
The Esports Awards 2022 nominations are here.
The nominations for the Esports Awards 2022 across different categories have been announced and CS:GO has been named as one of the nominees for the 'Esports Game of the Year'.
A total of nine esports titles have been shortlisted as finalists under this category including Dota 2, League of Legends, Valorant, Rocket League, Apex Legends, Free Fire, Rainbow Six, and Fortnite.
CS:GO will be turning 10 years old in August later this year and what an achievement it is for the Valve title to be still considered among the leading esports titles in the world.

Counter-Strike has been around for well over two decades with its latest version CS:GO about to turn ten later this year. The game has been through a lot of ups and downs along this journey, as it continues to stand strong today, equally relevant as ever.
In fact the popularity of the game as a competitive esports title has only grown over the years, with the PGL Stockholm Major 2021 breaking the all-time viewership record in November last year by attaining a peak of 2,748,434 concurrent viewers.
If this was not enough, the IEM Katowice 2022, which took place in March earlier this year, also broke the viewership record by becoming the most watched non-major CS:GO tournament ever, having clocked a peak of 1,122,015 concurrent viewers.
Last year, Valorant had been named as the 'Esports Game of the Year' in its second year since its launch. It will be interesting to see if it can win this title for the second time in a row or does some other title manage to take the crown this time around.
