Evil Geniuses' (EG) captain Stanislaw talks about his time away from competitive CS:GO to focus on his mental health.
Stanislaw has returned after almost three months to compete in his first CS:GO event since the summer player break - IEM Fall 2021: NA.
EG are currently second last in their group with a '1-1' score. They are still left to play against three more teams.

Since the summer player break Evil Geniuses (EG) have been trudging through, competing at events without their complete lineup. While Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz was absent from both ESL Pro League Season 14 and BLAST Premier: Fall Groups 2021, Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte also skipped the BLAST event, both having requested time off to focus on their respective mental health.

However, the complete CS:GO roster has now returned to compete at the ongoing IEM Fall 2021: NA (North America), where they currently stand '1-1' in the group stage. Stanislaw has taken the reigns as he returns to competitive CS:GO after a break of almost three months, confirming that the time away from the server was "definitely necessary".

Stanislaw opens up about his time away from CS:GO to work on his mental health

Evil Geniuses' IGL (In-Game Leader), Stanislaw, is back to lead the team at the last RMR (Regional Major Rankings) tournament of the year, returning after almost three months since having last competed at IEM Cologne 2021.

Stanislaw Statement - EG CS:GO Team

Taling about his time away from the server in an interview with HLTV, the 27-year-old Canadian rifler confirmed that this break was indeed a necessity for him.

I have a lot of things going on in my personal life - or I had, at least - and I was not anywhere near being in a good mental space. I just felt like if I were to play, I wouldn't be able to perform at my best.

He further clarified that the decision of going on a break was only taken after having discussed the problem with the entire team. They knew that playing with a substitute would not be ideal so the upcoming CS:GO Major became their primary focus.

Evil Geniuses as an organization has taken the mental health of every player very seriously. With their Dota 2 roster preparing to compete at the upcoming TI 10 (The International 10), the North American organization has appointed Dr. Alok Kanojia of Healthy Gamer to assist its players as a mindset and performance coach.

So far, the EG CS:GO lineup has not shown true signs of dominance or brilliance as they stand second last in their group. It will surely be a challenge to turn things around from here and qualify for the playoffs.
