S1mple has gifted the medal that he received last year for attaining first place in HLTV player rankings to popular Russian rapper Kizaru.
He also gifted him his official match jersey with his name on it and also met Kizaru personally.
Only a handful of CS:GO players have received the rank one medal, s1mple having attained two of them so far.

One of the best CS:GO players in the world, Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev, gifted the medal he received for attaining rank one last year in HLTV player rankings, to a popular Russian rapper who goes by the name of Kizaru.

The community had different reactions to s1mple giving away such a coveted piece of silverware, something that every CS:GO player strives to achieve after having given their absolute best throughout the competitive season.

No statement on the matter was given by s1mple and the information only came to light when Kizaru himself posted about it via his official Instagram account, so one does not know the exact reason or intention behind the medal being gifted away.

It is not often that one gets to see such grand gestures in esports, but when it comes to the NAVI star player, who is a global icon for the game, things are certainly a bit different.

People who follow s1mple on Twitch or any other social media would know his love for music, and how much appreciation he has for the top Russian hip-hop artist Kizaru.

In a couple of stories posted on Instagram by the popular Russian music artist, s1mple can be seen getting out of his car at some place to meet the talented rapper and seems to have gifted him a couple of things including,

  • His official NAVI jersey with his name on it.

  • The coveted medal that s1mple had received last year for achieving rank one in the HLTV CS:GO player rankings. Very few CS:GO players in the world have had the honor of receiving this medal, s1mple having attained it twice in 2018 and 2021.

The community reaction to this was split, some appreciated this gesture while others were not happy with the decision of giving something of such high importance and emotional value away like that.

Whatever the reason was, s1mple has refrained from commenting on this as NAVI continues to prepare for the upcoming BLAST Premier: Spring Finals 2022 which is scheduled to take place form 15th to 19th June.
