FaZe Clan veteran, rain, explains the reason behind his loyalty with the organization's CS:GO team.
Rain joined FaZe in Jan 2016 and has continued to be a part of the lineup for more than six years now, never being dropped out of the active roster.
Rain has created history along with the current FaZe roster by becoming the first team ever to win IEM Katowice, IEM Cologne, and a Major in the same calendar year.

When it comes to CS:GO, it is a bit rare to find players that are as loyal as Håvard "rain" Nygaard, who has now been with FaZe Clan for more than six years having joined the North American esports organization in January 2016.

In his time with FaZe, rain has played with over 15 different teammates and under various lineups to date, but has never found himself outside of the active roster.

Rain's patience and persistence have definitely paid off as he along with his team mates won the PGL Antwerp Major 2022, while also creating history for being part of the first lineup to win the golden trio in a single calendar year - IEM Katowice, IEM Cologne, and CS:GO Major.

In a recent interview with Dexerto, rain highlighted all the reasons behind him staying loyal to FaZe Clan and continuing his grind alongside the organization for over half a decade.

Rain explains why he has been loyal to FaZe Clan since the past six years

The Norwegian rifler had become a part of FaZe Clan six years ago when the organization had signed over the entire roster over from G2 Esports. Little did he know that it was going to be a long haul for him with this team, now stretching towards the seven-year checkpoint.

Talking about this initial switch, rain said that there were some regrets having made the decision after about a year, "of course, now I don't regret it. I'm in FaZe and I love it here."

He highlighted that the loss at the ELEAGUE Major: Boston 2018 was a huge setback for the team, "I don't think that lineup was ever able to shake it. That was a tough loss."

It was tough persevering through the downward spiral that FaZe had witnessed following this tournament. Personally, rain went through a rough period of about six months during which he did not enjoy playing CS:GO with the team.

This was mainly because the team was not a top contender for nearly a year and during this time a lot of temporary players were being constantly introduced which caused a great deal of difficulty in finding form and consistency.

Moving on to the current roster, rain applauded the move of bringing in Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken, "His aim is at the top of everyone I played with, I think he's on par with NiKo and ScreaM individually."

This was the first step towards the formation of the current roster and all of it took shape in front of rain himself. It was followed by Finn "karrigan" Andersen coming back into the team and rain absolutely backed this move, "It was really good to get him back and it was a long time coming I think as well."

The final two additions, Robin "ropz" Kool and Helvijs "broky" Saukants were the younger additions to the team and rain felt great having them in the team by his side.

"When I watch him play, when I watch him work, it's something that I haven't seen before like he counts pixels and does algebra to find certain grenades and I think he's redefining Counter-Strike as a player," said rain while describing ropz.

Through all his ups and downs with the team, rain always seems to have found enough motivation to keep himself going, achieving a feat not many players in the scene can boast about. Rain also plans on continuing competing in CS:GO for a couple of years more and hopefully goes out fighting under FaZe Clan itself.
