The revamped NIP lineup will be seen in action next month at the IEM Road to Rio 2022: European RMR A.

Almost a month after the player break, Ninjas In Pyjamas has gone ahead and made a CS:GO roster change, one that has not been received too well by the community at large.

The Swedish organization has benched Nicolas "Plopski" Gonzalez Zamora, replacing him with the former G2 Esports captain - Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen.

With this change, the lineup is also going to transition into communicating in English, something that was not preferred by Ludvig "Brollan" Brolin during his time with Fnatic.

This change comes following NIP's unsatisfactory performance at the ESL Pro League Season 16, failing to make it past the group stage after a '2-3' series scoreline.

NIP undergoes a CS:GO roster shuffle bringing in Aleksib for Plopski

After more than three years with the organization, Plopski, has been removed from the active CS:GO roster as NIP brings in Aleksib as the new shotcaller for the side.

With this move, NIP is trying to bring in more stability due to its haphazard streak of results - managing to qualify for the BLAST Premier: Fall Finals 2022 through the Fall Groups 2022, but failing to make it past the group stage of ESL Pro League Season 16.

Other slew of changes that NIP will be undergoing are as follows,

  • Aleksib will be taking over the reigns over from Hampus "hampus" Poser, under whose leadership the team has not done exceedingly well.

  • The team will also be switching their language of communication from Swedish to English, now that it has players from three different nationalities in its roster.

"When there's signs of stagnation, new energy might be needed to keep progressing and we think the timing is right to make a larger change than usual," says Jonas Gundersen - COO of NIP.

He further adds, "With this change, we've also taken decision to move Plopski to the bench. He's been with us for three years through ups and downs, and had a very special place in the hearts of staff and players alike."

NIP CSGO Roster Update Statement

NIP will be next seen in action at the upcoming IEM Road to Rio 2022: European RMR A which is scheduled to run from 4th to 9th October. It will be interesting to see how this new lineup performs and if it is able to fight through to the IEM Rio Major 2022.

The new NIP lineup is as follows,

  • Hampus "hampus" Poser

  • Fredrik "REZ" Sterner

  • Patrick "es3tag" Hansen

  • Ludvig "Brollan" Brolin

  • Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen - [IGL]

  • Daniel "djL" Narancic - [Coach]
