NiKo Explains Why NIP's CS:GO Team is Not a Title Contender
The G2 rifler is confident ahead of their IEM Winter 2021 semifinal match!
The IEM Winter 2021, which went on a five-day hold after the quarterfinals, is all set to commence from 11th December onwards, where G2 Esports will be facing off against Ninjas in Pyjamas (NIP).
While G2 is already among the heavy favorites to win this tournament, their ace rifer Nikola "NiKo" Kovač further proves how confident the team is feeling at the moment by stating that "I don't think NIP is a title contender team, I think they lack a lot of experience," during an interview with Pley.
The 24-year-old did not just give a blanket statement but went on to explain why he thought so about the Swedish organization, while also revealing who is his current favorite CS:GO player from Sweden.
NiKo talks about why NIP is not a title contender CS:GO team according to him
The two European teams are set to face off against each other in the second semifinals of IEM Winter 2021 on 11th December 2021. The quarterfinals of the PGL Major Stockholm 2021 was the last CS:GO tournament where the two teams had gone up against each other, resulting in two clean '16-11' victories on Inferno and Mirage by G2 Esports.
This time once again, NiKo is confident in achieving victory against NIP, a team that he does not consider to be a title contender right now. The undisputed number one rifler in the world gave the following explanation for his statement,
I think they (NIP) lack a lot of experience in the team to create an era or start winning more trophies. I think dev1ce (Nicolai Reedtz) is the only one that has experience obviously. Also, bringing es3tag (Patrick Hansen) I think he is obviously a really good all-round player and he can help them a lot. But I don't like his statement about NIP immediately being the best team in the world, I think it's a bit cocky.Nikola "NiKo" Kovač - Interview with Pley
NiKo further pointed out how NIP currently faces a communication problem with a Swedish-Danish mix. He thinks it will take some time to sort out this issue as communication is the most important aspect of the game.
With regards to being the best team in the world, NiKo said that it definitely takes some time to be the best. He also added that the upcoming match is going to be a great series against NIP.
As for the best Swedish player according to him, NiKo thinks that Hampus "hampus" Poser is the current best CS:GO player from Sweden due to him being a very stable player, who is always putting up good numbers while also creating a lot of space for the team.
