MAJ3R Leaves Valorant, Returns to CS:GO With Eternal Fire
Another one returns to compete in CS:GO.
Another CS:GO professional who had switched to compete in Valorant has returned to the Valve shooter after a brief stint. The Turkish-French player, Engin "MAJ3R" Küpeli, is all set to compete in Counter-Strike once again along with the player-owned organization Eternal Fire.
He will be filling in the vacant spot left by the departure of Buğra "Calyx" Arkın earlier this week to complete the CS:GO lineup of Eternal Fire well ahead of the ESL Pro League Season 16 and IEM Rio Major 2022.
The team has already managed to qualify for the former, following its top four finish at the recently concluded ESL Pro League Conference Season 16. As for the latter, Eternal Fire will be giving its absolute best after having failed to qualify for the first Major of the year, PGL Antwerp Major 2022.
MAJ3R quits Valorant and returns to CS:GO after eight months to join Eternal Fire
One of the biggest Counter-Strike personalities from the Turkish region, MAJ3R, is a veteran who has the experience of having competed with teams like Space Soldiers, Team LDLC, Turkey 5, and Sangal Esports.
He had retired from CS:GO in October last year and switched to compete in Valorant, where he went on to play with a team called Digital Athletics, a Turkish esports organization based in Istanbul.
After a period of about eight months away from Counter-Strike, the 31-year-old has returned to compete along with the premier Turkish team in the scene.
Talking about his time away from the game, MAJ3R said "After Sangal adventure I wanted to try a career in Valorant, but I realized that the system of Riot is completly different than CS. We practiced [for] 6 months to only show it in one competition (VRL - Valorant Regional League). I find the competition system so weak and I missed CS:GO so much during this time. With my full heart I took a decision to come back where I belong, to my first love."
He did regard his time competing and practicing in Valorant as a "good experience" and promised to give his best during this opportunity of competing with Eternal Fire.
The complete CS:GO roster now looks as follows,
İsmailcan "XANTARES" Dörtkardeş
Özgür "woxic" Eker
Ömer "imoRR" Karataş
Yasin "xfl0ud" Koç
Engin "MAJ3R" Küpeli - IGL
Timur "bishop" Şengül - Coach
