Imperial Esports has managed to clinch the very last slot left for the IEM Rio Major 2022.
Imperial Esports won four consecutive do-or-die matches to qualify for the Rio Major.
The Rio Major will witness participation from the former Major winning Brazilian lineup - FalleN, Fer, Fnx, Coldzera, TACO.

The hopes of all Brazilian fans continue to carry forward as Imperial Esports completes its near-impossible qualifier circuit, winning four consecutive do-or-die matches to secure the final American RMR (Regional Major Rankings) slot for the IEM Rio Major 2022.

Imperial walked into the Major qualifier following multiple roster changes and a promising runners up finish at the ESL Challenger Melbourne 2022.

However, the team failed to get off to a good start at the American RMR, dropping two close matches to 9z Team and 00 Nation. This resulted in Imperial facing elimination, the only possible way for the team to still make it to the Rio Major was to win all of its remaining matches.

Imperial Esports clinches the last remaining slot for the IEM Rio Major 2022

Imagine a CS:GO Major taking place in Brazil without legendary players like Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo, Fernando "fer" Alvarenga, Lincoln "fnx" Lau, Marcelo "coldzera" David, and Epitácio "TACO" de Melo. It would be really disappointing, but it is something we do not have to worry about as Imperial Esports has managed to secure the very last spot for the IEM Rio Major 2022.

Imperial defeated four teams in back-to-back elimination matches to make its way through to the main event - Team oNe, Nouns Esports, paiN Gaming, and Complexity Gaming.

A huge effort was made by the team to ensure that it does not let down the entire nation of Brazil and all its fans from around the world, especially in its last game against Complexity on Overpass - a nail-biter which went into double overtime.

This is in itself a huge achievement for the team, getting an opportunity to compete at the Major in front of its home crowd at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Something that FalleN had aimed to achieve since the formation of this team at the start of the season.
