The new year is less than a week away and things are heating up with IEM Katowice 2024 primed to be the first top-tier Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) tournament of the next competitive season.
It is scheduled to take place from 31st January to 11th February featuring a total prize pool of $1,000,000 USD and 24 qualified teams taking on each other in Katowice, Poland.
Out of these, eight teams have directly qualified for the group stage while the remaining will take on each other in the play-in stage.

None of the CS2 teams competing in this tournament have been handed a direct invite, all participants have qualified by winning another competition or by maintaining their position on the ESL World Rankings.
While eight higher-seeded teams will skip ahead to the group stage, the remaining 16 competitors will have to fight through the play-in stage to proceed ahead.

These teams will take on each other in the opening stage of the tournament but only eight will move ahead to join the directly qualified teams in the group stage.
This is the complete list of all CS2 teams that will be seen in action at the IEM Katowice 2024 which will be taking place in Katowice, Poland.
All the matches will be played offline with the starting stages, play-in and group, taking place on LAN behind closed doors at the ESL Studio, followed by things moving on to the legendary Spodek Arena to host the playoffs from 9th to 11th February.
The total prize pool of a million dollars will be split between all competing teams as per their final standings in the tournament.
However, the champion will be treated to something special, directly qualifying for both IEM Cologne 2024 and BLAST Premier World Final 2024 in addition to getting the lion's share of the prize money.
