Gods Reign Crowned Champion in Skyesports Masters 2023 CS:GO

The Skyesports Masters 2023 started with 8 teams and after some intense matches throughout the tournament it finally concluded with Gods Reign becoming the champion.

Gods Reign defeated Revenant Esports to win the Skyesports Masters 2023 Counter Strike Global Offensive (CS:GO) event. The Grand Final was a best of three series but it did not reach the final map as Gods Reign took only two maps to show its dominance on the big stage. The team will take home a massive sum of INR 44,25,000 and the trophy. 

Revenant Esports was the runner up for the event, while Marcos Gaming and 7Sea Esports finished third and fourth respectively.

Gods Reign’s journey in the Grand Final

The event featured a single elimination bracket which meant only one chance was granted to qualify for the Grand Finals. Gods Reign dominated the Semi Finals against Marcos Gaming by winning 2-0. Revenant Esports on the other hand had to fight a hard battle against 7Sea Esports and after being one map down in the Semi Finals it made a comeback winning the last two maps to secure the Grand Final spot.

In the match veto, Revenant Esports chose the map of Anubis. It had good a start in the first map and was leading by a margin of 4-1 before Gods Reign took the second point and then went for a time-out. The time out proved valuable for Gods Reign as it made a comeback and made Revenant Esports buckle up. After some intense rounds, Gods Reign equalized the score line and then took the lead. Revenant Esports had been very good on this map throughout the event, but Gods Reign was able to counter strategize effectively and was able to emerge victorious.

Map 2 - Ancient was Gods Reign's pick and the team dominated with a 3-0 lead before Revenant Epsorts was able to take a point to make it 3-1. Gods Reign continued to dominate the half and was able to close it out with a 10-5 lead. Revenant Esports was able to make a comeback and came close at 8-11. But It wasn’t long before Gods Reign shifted the momentum and won the map 16-8 and sealed the series 2-0.

Skyesports Masters 2023 CGSO was an important event in the Indian region as Counter Strike 2 has been announced, Gods Reign might as well be the last team from the Indian region to have secured the last big trophy of CS:GO esports in India.
