In a recent Twitch stream, Freakazoid claimed that Stewie2K could have joined G2 Esports during the CS:GO shuffle season.
He also stated that G2 Esports was entertaining the idea of getting him on board as an IGL, practically in place of Aleksib.
EG is currently in a really tough spot as they have failed to qualify for PGL Antwerp Major 2022, IEM Dallas 2022, and BLAST Premier: Spring Finals 2022.

Evil Geniuses after a disastrous 2021 have failed to pick up their pieces even after undergoing a massive overhaul which consisted of signing the Major winning trio of Jacky "Stewie2K" Yip, Timothy "automatic" Ta, and William "RUSH" Wierzba.

The team not only failed to qualify for the PGL Antwerp Major 2022 but will also not be seen in action at the IEM Dallas 2022 and the BLAST Premier: Spring Finals 2022. This has resulted in many fans discussing potential roster shuffles heading EG's way.

Amid all this chaos and a promise to bring about a change, former CS:GO player Ryan "freakazoid" Abadir in a recent Twitch stream claimed that Stewie2K actually had an option to join G2 Esports during the shuffle season.

Freakazoid claims that Stewie2K had an opportunity to join G2 Esports

The CS:GO roster of Evil Geniuses is under tremendous pressure following its disappointing performance so far in this competitive season. A lot of discussions have been taking place between community members about possible changes that the team can implement to improve upon their results.

EG moves maLeK to inactive roster

Amidst all this, an alleged information has come to light via Freakazoid that Stewie2K had an opportunity to join G2 Esports but the move never took place and he ended up joining EG.

The 29-year-old who used to compete professionally in CS:GO, during a recent livestream on Twitch said, "Dude he [Stewie2K] could have joined G2 [Esports] by the way, how crazy is that?"

He further went on to claim that Stewie2K was going to act as an IGL (In-Game Leader) for G2 Esports and was being considered in place of their current shotcaller Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen, who G2 had brought into the team in January earlier this year in exchange of their former captain Nemanja "nexa" Isaković.

Frekazoid added that NiKo wanted him to come on board the team as an IGL, but probably something happened due to which the move never transpired. This is something that the CS:GO community was absolutely appalled by, calling it the worst possible decision that G2 could have made.

A few other users playing with Freakazoid called Stewie2K an "idiot" for choosing Evil Geniuses over G2 Esports, considering that he allegedly had an offer from both the esports organizations.

However, many in the community also supported Stewie2K's decision to not want to move away from North America and move all the way to Europe.
