In a recent interview, flamie reflected on the 1win CS:GO team's preparation for the upcoming IEM Rio Major 2022: European RMR.
Flamie believes in the team and thinks that they have a good chance of qualifying for the Major.
However, flamie knows the pressure that comes along with a LAN event and says that it could be a decisive factor for them.

The most experienced player on 1win's CS:GO lineup, Egor "flamie" Vasilyev, is confident in his team and believes that they have a good chance of qualifying through the European RMR (Regional Major Rankings) for the IEM Rio Major 2022.

It has been a tough journey for 1win, qualifying in its third attempt through the open qualifiers of the RMR tournament, improving itself with each passing attempt and finally making it through.

The Russian-Belarus lineup looks in decent shape leading up to the Major qualifier - placing second at CCT Central Europe Series #1 and fourth at DreamHack Rotterdam 2022: European Closed Qualifier.

1win finished fourth at the IEM Road to Rio 2022: European RMR - Open Qualifier #4 and barely pushed itself across the finish line. It was enough to get the team a slot in the European RMR A, but will it be enough for the journey ahead?

In a statement during an interview with 1win, flamie expressed that the roster had definitely improved since they qualified and "has a good chance to qualify for the Major".

However, he did go on to add that the journey will not be easy and there would be problems they would need to resolve like playing in a LAN setup, since the European RMR is scheduled to take place in Malta, Europe.

"It (European RMR A) will be LAN, and it will be interesting to see how we play there," says flamie, "From my memory, LAN tournaments can be a completely different game, both for the better and for the worse. It's hard to predict the performance because of that, but it's cool that we'll be playing on LAN."

Note: The interview is in Russian and the English translations have been obtained from Cybersport.

The 25-year-old added that all he would like the team to do is play together by communicating with each other. He admitted that due to additional nerves, stress, and tension, it becomes tough to do the simplest of things but their aim for now is to get to Malta and set out on their journey towards the IEM Rio Major 2022.

1win's CS:GO team for the tournament is as follows,

  • Aleksandr "TRAVIS" Timkiv

  • Denis "deko" Zhukov

  • Aleksandr "glowiing" Matsiyevich - IGL

  • Egor "flamie" Vasilyev

  • Ihor "lollipop21k" Sołodkov

  • Vadim "MSE" Zimin - Coach
