EliGE towards the tail end of 2021 was considering a switch from CS:GO to Valorant.
EliGE in a recent interview said that "I would be lying if I say it was not on my mind but it was not really like something serious".
EliGE was considering the switch due to a lot of stress that he was facing along with a lot of travelling commitments when it came to CS:GO.

North American CS:GO veteran, Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski, who has been competing with Team Liquid since March 2015 was considering a switch to Valorant towards the tail end of 2021.

Though this is something that EliGE never mentioned or spoke about publicly, several speculations around the topic were certainly making rounds at that point in time.

In a recent interview with HLTV, the 24-year-old entry fragger confirmed that switching to Valorant was something that he was considering, "I would be lying if I say it was not on my mind but it was not really like something serious".

Talking about what was going through his mind towards the end of the competitive season last year, EliGE shared that at that point in time he was not happy in the team because he was feeling really stressed out due to the amount of travelling that was going on.

With most of the big competitions taking place online or on LAN in Europe, members of Team Liquid were going back and forth quite frequently.

"In 2018-19 there was a lot of travelling going on, we were going back and forth to all these different spots," said EliGE, further explaining that the Counter-Strike Professional Players' Association (CSPPA) would fix the issue pertaining to the excess travel.

In early 2020, when the entire competitive scene had shifted online EliGE had got some experience of how it feels to be home and stay around for a little bit, but the situation went back to normal after some time.

"When we started travelling a bit, the schedules were just not getting any better or easier for a long amount of time," explained EliGE, "When you are gone for that long in a row, it gets mentally draining, especially for me. I met like a lot of good friends during that time and was able to interact with them. I was really worried about ruining those relationships".

As EliGE never got a clear answer to when the work-life balance was going to become more sustainable, it started stressing him out and he was not sure what he wanted to do going ahead. This is when he started considering a switch to Valorant, not as something serious but more like a solution to his problem.

In the end, EliGE did not make the switch because he thought that it was the not really the answer to his problems and attained a more concrete idea of how 2022 would shape out after the PGL Major Stockholm 2021.
