Zonic might reportedly be on his way out of Astralis as his contract with the organization nears its end.
Zonic is apparently disappointed in the team's current direction, and there is an alleged growing tension between the team and the organization.
The 34-year-old is one of the most decorated coaches in the history of CS:GO, helping Astralis secure a record of four CS:GO Major titles.

Veteran CS:GO coach, Danny "zonic" Sørensen who has been a part of Astralis for more than five years might be considering leaving the Danish organization, as per the report by HLTV. With player contracts of Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander, Emil "Magisk" Reif, Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen, and Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth coming to an end on 31st Dec 2021, zonic has also reportedly started looking for other offers. According to the report, 34-year-old Dane is considering leaving the organization because he is disappointed with the direction in which the team is currently headed. A source speaking to HLTV also alleged that there was growing tension between the team and the organization, which seems to have been building for several months now.

Zonic Might be Leaving Astralis Soon

There is already a lot of speculations going on about Astralis' CS:GO lineup as the player contracts are reportedly set to expire in a few months time. On top of that, their coach zonic also seems prepared to explore other opportunities.

The only player who is bound to stay in the Astralis roster for now is Lucas "Bubzkji" Andersen, who joined the organization in July 2020. His contract comes to an end in 2022, with a whole year left on the two-year deal signed by him.

Zonic has been with Astralis since the team's inception in January 2016. In his five years with the Danish organization, zonic has helped them win a record of four CS:GO Majors. He has also won the award for 'Best Esports Coach' across all esports titles by The Game Awards for two consecutive years, 2019 and 2020.

zonic also published a book titled 'The Brain Behind Astralis' in 2019, talking about his journey as a player and as a coach, while also touching upon the rapidly growing esports market.

It will surely be a huge blow for Astralis if zonic was to leave the organization.

Further speculation says that Astralis are eyeing Heroic's current CS:GO coach Nicolai "HUNDEN" Petersen to lead their campaign next year in 2022. The 30-year-old despite being banned as part of ESIC's 'Spectator Bug Abuse' investigation, has helped Heroic become a top-tier CS:GO team.

So far, Astralis has had a disappointing 2021 campaign especially since the departure of their star AWPer Nicolai "device" Reedtz. It will be interesting to see what the organization decides to do and how they proceed.
