Highlights
Valve has rolled out another small patch for Counter-Strike 2 Limited Test to improve the game's performance and sound.
It also rolled out multiple bug fixes across the board to further stabilize the game.
Here are the complete patch notes of the 13th September update of Counter-Strike 2.

The Counter-Strike 2 Limited Test is currently live and quite a few players have now received an invitation for it following Valve's recent change in eligibility rules.

They are not only enjoying the new title which is going to be the successor to CS:GO but are also testing out different aspects of the new version, reporting the shortcomings, and helping the developers improve the game.

Here is the latest batch of changes that have been rolled out along with the new patch for Counter-Strike 2 Limited Test which was released on 13th September.


Counter-Strike 2 Limited Test Patch Notes (13 Sep 2023): Complete Details

Just a week after introducing features like Premier Mode, Map-Specific Ranks, Shorter Matches, and a bunch of other tools, the developers have made a few tweaks related to performance, sound, and overall gameplay with another small Counter-Strike (CS2) Limited Test Patch.


Maps

  • Various bug fixes and tweaks for all shipped maps.

Gameplay

  • Various fixes for molotov/incendiary grenades.

  • Various fixes for smoke grenades.

  • Fixed damage indicators for fire damage.

  • Adjusted first-person sniper contrails to reflect shot accuracy.

  • Various adjustments to lag compensation.

  • Replaced player elevation indicators on the radar with look directions.

Premier Matchmaking

  • Various bug fixes and tweaks to UI elements.

Sound

  • Audio mix changes and tweaks.

  • Lowered occlusion and distance effects for gunfire, footsteps and reloads.

  • Slight increase to stereo spread.

  • Fixed a bug where incorrect footstep and jump land sounds would play on elevated edges.

  • Fixed a bug where music would stop playing at the end of the deathmatch.

Misc

  • Changed armor number in buy menu from amount you currently have to amount you can buy.

  • Various fixes for weapon finishes, gloves, and stickers.

  • Water rendering performance improvements.

  • Added nametag positions for all knife models.

  • Allow adjusting individual player voice volumes.

  • Various HUD bug fixes and tweaks.

  • Added option to disallow animated avatars.

  • Removed several legacy networking convars that existed in CS:GO but never had an effect in CS2.


The developers are trying to improve Counter-Strike 2 Limited Test by fine-tuning the game and taking care of all bugs that the community keeps noticing and reporting.

Slowly the game's performance is also improving, which is a huge positive because everyone wants the game to be similar to CS:GO or better in stature across the board.

Many such short patches will keep coming out as the developers try to bring the game up to speed and make it esports-worthy once again, equipped with the latest Source 2 game engine it should not be a tall task.
