Mousesports Explore Options to Replace Karrigan Amid FaZe Rumours
  • Mousesports has reportedly started exploring options to replace their current IGL karrigan.
  • They have taken this decision after karrigan requested for more time to decide whether to extend his contract or not.
  • This comes amid reports of karrigan possibly returning back to FaZe Clan who are currently searching for a permanent fifth.

Mousesports has reportedly started their search for a suitable player to replace Finn "karrigan" Andersen before the start of the 2021 competitive circuit. As per HLTV, the 30-year-old has still not signed a new contract with mousesports instead, asking for a little more time to decide about his future.

This information comes out amid rumours about the 30-year-old returning to join his former team FaZe Clan. Though it is unsure if the North American organization have zeroed down on him as another report links Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken with the team.

Karrigan Unsure About Continuing With Mousesports

In a statement to HLTV, Jan Dominicus who is the Chief Business Development Officer of mousesports’ said that “We have been in talks with karrigan in regards to a new agreement. He asked us for more time, as it's a big decision for both of us. Meanwhile, we are of course exploring other options to be prepared in case Finn wants to try something different."

Mousesports are scheduled to compete at the upcoming IEM Katowice Play In from 16th February onwards and the organization would like to lock down their roster before participating in the tournament. Karrigan’s uncertainty regarding his future has forced them to start exploring suitable options to replace him, just in case the Danish-German rifler decides to not extend his contract.

Reports of FaZe Clan showing an interest in signing karrigan has further complicated this matter, as no organization wants to be in a compromising situation. If FaZe wants Karrigan they will mostly be waiting for his contract to expire in March before acquiring him as a free agent. Other than this Marcelo “coldzera” David has also requested the organization to consider the experienced IGL, something that their current lineup lacks.

DeKay in an earlier statement had said that “It’s possible FaZe buy him, but not likely at this point just yet.” Since then another report has surfaced which links former Team Liquid rifler Twistzz to FaZe Clan, as a possible fifth permanent player for the organization.

Karrigan for now has stayed with mousesports for a period of two years during which the organization has made just one change in their CS:GO roster, replacing Ozgur “woxic” Eker with Aurimas “Bymas” Pipiras. A string of poor performances with random high points in between has forced karrigan to think long and hard about resigning a contract with the team. Let’s see what decision does he arrive at.
