OG put up quite a fight today against G2 Esports in the quarterfinals of ESL One Cologne 2020 but despite their heroic efforts, the Danish organization was not able to close out the series after dragging the decider match into overtime. OG’s in-game leader Aleksi “Aleksib “ Virolainen was hands down the best player on the server tonight, sadly it was not enough for the team to make it through to the semis and the player’s emotionally charged message shows his disappointment.

Aleksib Posts Emotional Message After Loss

Following their loss, all the players from OG expressed their sadness for not being able to close out the series but it was Aleksib’s Tweet that stood out from the rest as he posted an emotional message which showed his frustration over the team’s ability to not able to close out in such situations.

He congratulated G2 Esports on the win while stating that he felt as if all their hard work was for nothing as they keep losing matches in such situations again and again. He expressed further disappointment in the fact that they kept walking blindly into a stacked T-side so many times on Dust 2.

Other players like Valdemar “valde” Bjørn and Issa “ISSAA” Murad also highlighted the fact that they were not able to close out on the match even after getting multiple opportunities to do so.

OG after losing on Nuke which was their map pick went on to beat G2 Esports on Train, the decider on Dust 2 seemed to be in OG’s control till the 25th round following which all hell broke loose as G2 Esports won five crucial round in succession to take the game into overtime.

Here OG ran into a lot of problems as G2 kept their momentum resulting in a ‘19-17’ scoreline favoring the French team. With this, OG have been eliminated from the tournament as G2 advance to face off against Heroic.
