Saudi Arabian charity esports initiative ‘Gamers Without Borders’ has announced the fifth game in its ‘International Elite Tournament Series’ as CS:GO, with a $2 Million dollar prize fund up for donation.
The tournament will be featuring six of the best CS:GO teams from around the world, as they go up against each other from 29th-31st May. The tournament which is being run by ESL will witness the teams donate their share of the $2 Million prize fund, to one of the many charities that are fighting against the spread of coronavirus.
The six directly invited teams participating in the tournament are, G2 Esports, Fnatic, Na’Vi, Mousesports, FaZe Clan, and OG. All the participating teams are from the Europe and CIS regions, which will not see a major connection problem for the teams involved.
CS:GO is the fifth esport title under this initiative which has been running since 24th April and is scheduled to conclude on 7th June, with yet another undisclosed gaming title to take place from 5th-7th June as the last charity esports tournament.
Before CS:GO charity tournaments for other gaming titles like PUBG Mobile, Rainbow Six Siege, Dota 2, and FORTNITE, were also played. In the PUBG Mobile tournament, an India based team called TSM-Entity placed second with a total of $1.5 Million being donated by the participating teams.
The tournament will be broadcasted across multiple streaming platforms like Twitch, Facebook, and YouTube, in six languages namely, English, Arabic, Russian, Portuguese, Spanish, and French, while also being broadcasted in Chinese on Huya.
