G2 through this statement was referring to the following second-place finishes, the ‘3-0’ defeat they had faced against FunPlus Phoenix in the finals of League of Legends World Championship 2019 followed by the recent ‘3-0’ loss against Na’Vi in the finals of IEM Katowice 2020.

The Spanish organization who fields rosters in multiple esport titles like LoL, Hearthstone, Rocket League, Paladins, PUBG, Rainbow Six Siege, CS:GO, and Super Smash Bros Melee, sprung up a huge horde of reactions from the community who initially thought that G2 was actually leaving CS:GO despite being the fourth-best team in the world at the moment.

Cloud9 was quick to add on to the banter telling G2 to not forget the bomb on their way out. While Rainbow Six Esports indirectly dissed CS:GO by saying “Smart decision. Time to win in Rainbow Six Siege again.”

G2 Esports will be seen in action shortly at the ESL Pro League Season 11 - Finals which is scheduled to take place from 16th March onwards. Let’s see how well the Frenchmen fair in the upcoming league.
