It was a dream come true for everyone as the two heavyweights of Swedish counter-strike Fnatic and Dignitas, went up against each other in a bid to qualify for the European Minors. One could not have asked for a better match-up as the ‘El Clásico of Counter-Strike’ lived up to the hype with Fnatic managing to claim the series ‘2-1’ to send Dignitas down to the lower bracket.

The opening game on Vertigo witnessed Fnatic give one hell of a time to Dignitas, who managed to win their map with a score of ‘22-18’ despite the heavy shoving. Fnatic leveled the series with a victory on their map pick Inferno, but it wasn’t easy as Dignitas managed to take the game into overtime before going down.

The final game on Overpass was not as exciting as the other two, as Dignitas was not able to find it’s footing Fnatic made quick work of them, sending them packing straight down to the lower bracket and claiming themselves a spot in the European Minors.

It was one hell of a showing by both the teams as they fought tooth-and-nail to deliver the best series of the European Minor Qualifiers so far. Jesper “JW” Wecksell was on fire raking 79 frags to his name across the three maps leading the attack for his side, while it was Hakon “hallzerk” Fjærli doing the same for Dignitas with a total of 75 frags.

Dignitas will now be facing off against either Nordavind or Apeks, depending on which team proceeds further into the qualifier. They still have a chance to qualify for the European Minors and there just might be a chance that they go against Fnatic once more.
