ESL has announced that Danylo “Zeus” Teslenko will be walking out with the trophy on the first day of the upcoming IEM Katowice 2020. Following the tradition of a ‘legendary player’ walking out upon the podium with the trophy, the former Natus Vincere captain and two-time IEM winner will be signaling the start of the tournament.

Zeus who has himself lifted the World Championship trophy in 2010 and 2011 with Na’Vi will be the fifth trophy bearer for IEM Katowice. He will be following in the footsteps of Jaroslaw “pashaBiceps” Jarzabkowski, Mariusz “Loord” Cybulski, Wiktor “TaZ” Wojtas, and Yoan “ToD” Merlo.

Widely regarded as one of the best IGL’s in history of Counter-Strike, he retired in September last year after playing for Na’Vi one last time at BLAST Pro Series Moscow 2019. He has even written his autobiography “Against All Odds: The Way to Victory” which released in January this year.

Last year it was a really emotional moment for pashaBiceps to walk out on the stage with the trophy at the Spodek Arena.

With a packed tournament all ready to start from 24th Feb onwards, it will be an action-packed week for CS:GO. Let’s see which team comes out on top to lift the coveted trophy and walk away with the lions share of the $500,000 prize pool.
