The American esports organization, Lowkey Esports, have ventured into Asia once again after picking up a Philippine-based Dota 2 roster in September. This time the organization has travelled to Sri Lanka to acquire ZeGg Esports' roster, introducing a local line-up consisting of five Sri Lankan players.
The current Lowkey Sri Lanka CS:GO line-up is the same as follows,
Omal "Roach" Prabuddha
Geeshan "Defiance" Jayaraj
Shakir "Hikka" Razak
Zayyaan "HeLLScrM" Ali
Sanjeev "BeN" Kalaieesan
ZeGg Esports had recently managed to qualify for the ZOWIE eXTREMESLAND 2019 - South Asia Qualifier through the Sri Lankan qualifier, but could not attend due to visa issues and had to forfeit their slot.
Lowkey Esports which started in January 2019 has multiple esport rosters around the world. In their home region of North America, the organization operates rosters in Fortnite, Splatoon 2, and PUBG, while moving down to South America, they have fielded rosters in titles such as Overwatch and Rocket League. Now the organization has moved to Asia as well, with rosters in two of the most popular esport titles in the world, Dota 2 and CS:GO.
But this is not the first time that Lowkey is venturing into Counter-Strike as they already have two rosters back in North America, one of which is an academy roster.
An American esports organization venturing into Sri Lanka is a really big step forward for the region and the fact that esports was recently declared as an official sport in their country further bolsters the region's prominence in the industry.
