Sri Lankan CS:GO Players Have Visas Denied Ahead of eXTREMESLAND South Asia Qualifier

Four players of ZeGg Esports – the lone Sri Lankan representative at the eXTREMESLAND South Asia qualifier have had their Indian visas denied. This is the second time that their applications have been rejected due to which the team will not be able to compete. Among the players that received their visas and travelled to Delhi are Shakir ‘hikkA’ Razak and substitute player Robinson ‘Ignite’ Shakthivel.

Speaking to AFK Gaming, Geeshan 'Defiance' Jayarajah said "We prepared a lot. We are sad and disappointed that we couldn't make it to the tournament."

The qualifier which was meant to take place with eight of the best teams in the region is now down to seven competitors. Seven teams will now participate in a group stage single round-robin GSL (Bo1). The top two teams will proceed to a single-elimination (bo3) playoff bracket. The winner of the tournament will secure a slot at the main event of ZOWIE eXTREMESLAND Asia 2019.
