CS:GO is no longer playable with CS2 replacing it permanently.
All items that you owned in CS:GO are automatically transferred to CS2.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is no longer playable with the release of Counter-Strike 2 (CS2). A lot of players who were unaware about CS2’s release are shocked that they cannot access CS:GO anymore. If you are wondering what happened to your CS:GO inventory and if you can still access your items, we have the answers you need. But do note that CS:GO is no longer playable as the game has been completely replaced so if you want to play the game after CS2’s release, the answer is that it is not possible officially.

What happened to your CS:GO items and inventory

When Valve announced Counter-Strike 2, it revealed that all CS:GO items will be transferred over to Counter-Strike 2 and you do not have to worry about losing any items. With CS2 being a direct upgrade for existing CS:GO players, you don’t have to worry about manually transferring your items. When the game releases, all of your items will automatically be classified under Counter-Strike 2 in the Steam Marketplace.

The marketplace prices of the skins should not change much with the release of Counter-Strike but Valve has not revealed any details about CS2’s monetization yet. If you want to keep track of what your inventory is worth before CS:GO transitions to CS2, here’s what you need to do:

Check your CS:GO/Counter-Strike 2 inventory value

  1. Launch Steam and click on your username (next to the Community tab)

  2. Click on Inventory

  3. Browse through all of your CS:GO/CS2 items and check their current marketplace values

  4. You will need to go through all of your items and total the amount

  5. While there are third-party tools that can automate this process, we do not recommend linking third-party apps to Steam unless it’s from a verified publisher.

If there are any missing items, you should reach out to Valve’s customer support.

To contact Steam customer support, you can:

  1. Visit the Steam Support website: https://help.steampowered.com/.

  2. Sign in to your Steam account.

  3. Click the "Help" button in the top right corner of the page.

  4. Select the category of your issue.

  5. If you are unable to find a solution to your issue, click the "Contact Support" button.

  6. Fill out the help request form and click the "Submit" button.

Steam customer support is available 24/7. However, please note that response times may vary depending on the volume of requests they are receiving.

Here are some additional tips for contacting Steam customer support:

  • Be as specific as possible when describing your issue. This will help the support team to resolve your issue more quickly and efficiently.

  • Provide any relevant screenshots or error messages. This will also help the support team to understand your issue better.

  • Be patient and respectful. The support team is working hard to help all users, and they may be dealing with a high volume of requests.
