Krafton is actively working with the Indian gaming and esports community to promote PUBG. Earlier this month, Krafton and NODWIN Gaming partnered together to offer Hindi broadcasts for the ongoing PUBG Global Invitational.S (PGI.S) event for PUBG PC. The two-month-long event kicked off on February 5th and will conclude next month.

The PUBG studio also hired a new Operations team, with Aneesh Aravind being appointed the Country Manager for India, responsible for leading the team. However, Krafton is reportedly launching PUBG Mobile 2.0, which is set in the year 2051.

Should Indian PUBG Mobile Fans Be Excited?

PUBG Mobile was banned due to it being developed by Tencent. The game was banned along with other Chinese apps and games last year, and Indian fans have been missing out on the battle royale ever since. The PC version of the game is still available as it was fully produced and developed by Krafton Inc. If Krafton also develops the upcoming PUBGM2 title, the chances of the new game being available in India are high.

The recent hiring of the operations team and the appointment of a new regional head might not lead to PUBG Mobile's return. Fans will have to wait and see if Krafton shares any details on the matter anytime soon. The PUBG Global Invitational.S 2021 event is ongoing, and PUBGM2 is expected to be announced next week. The global esports event will end on March 28th. We should receive information from Krafton over the next few weeks if the rumors are true.

AFK Gaming has reached out to the new regional head for comments, and we will update this article if we receive a response.
