The very first offline esports event to be held in Southeast Asia this 2021. The M2 World Championship will have the top MLBB esports teams worldwide compete at the Shangri-La Hotel’s comfort in Singapore. 

The teams will battle it out for the grand prize pool of $300,000 (USD). The champions will receive $140,000 in cash and their team’s in-game skin for the hero of their choice. The stakes are high, and the teams are all fired up and ready to give their all. Here are 5 reasons to watch the upcoming M2 World Championship tournament.

Alter Ego and Bren Esports Rematch

During the One Esports MPLI, Alter Ego swept the floor and claimed Champions’ title without a single loss. The Grand Finals ended with Alter Ego having three wins and no losses against Bren Esports. Fans stated that the grand final was anticlimactic as Bren Esports barely stood a chance against the Indonesian team.

Their fated rematch will be held on Jan. 19, 2021. It would be interesting to see how the two teams will fight once again and what tricks they might have up their sleeves. 

How far can the underdog team from Cambodia, Impunity KH go?

You can’t count them out just because they are underdogs. Their aggressive play style will make their opponents second guess their next move. Being too aggressive is risky in pro play, but Impunity can execute it with ease.

The journey for Impunity isn’t going to be smooth sailing. Todak is known for its impressive counterplay and teamwork, a strategy that might go well against Impunity. Will they make a mark in the history of esports in the upcoming M2 World Championships? We’ll soon find out.

Todak came out of nowhere and hard stomped their opponents in MPL-MY/SG Season 4 and claimed second place. They also represented Malaysia in the M1 World Championship and claimed third place. The future seems promising for the esports team. However, this success did not carry through in the MPL-MY/SG Season 5 as they finished 6th place, resulting in the team’s official disband on May 18, 2020. 

Months later, the team reopened their doors for another shot at the esports scene. They have claimed the crown of being the champions at the MPLI Season 6, and here they are now, representing Malaysia at the M2 World Championship. This might be the opportunity for Todak to climb up once again and let themselves be known to the world. 

How will the unpredictable 10S Gaming Frost fare?

This Japanese team is widely known for its unorthodox playstyle that makes the enemy team scratch their head in confusion and yet emerge victorious. It may seem out of the ordinary for other people, but it works in their favor. This is what makes 10S Gaming Frost such a unique professional team. 

They may have finished 6th place in the M1 World Championship, but they won the hearts of many MLBB players who watched their unique playstyle. Will the veteran members Obuyan and Peppa show us another one of their brilliant, unorthodox strategies? We’ll find out soon enough. 

Is Brazillian MLBB as strong as everyone thinks it is?

DreamMax is one of the best esports teams in Brazil. However, the M2 World Championship is the organization’s first leap outside their country for many of their players.

The team is known for its roaming support playstyle, which keeps their opponents at the edge of their seats. The team won against Team Solid in Brazil National Championships 2020, one of Brazil’s most significant MLBB esports events.  

It’s still a mystery how well they can play against the big teams in Southeast Asia. It will be interesting to see how this Brazillian team can adapt to the fast-paced playstyle of the esports teams from SEA.
