Industry analyst Daniel Ahmad also tweeted out that While Tencent has previously operated 'Call of Duty: Online' for PC in China, this is the first time that Call of Duty will be introduced to most gamers in China. He also said that Tencent has invested heavily in the marketing of the game with various promotions to increase the appeal/reach. Tencent’s deep understanding of the Chinese game market paired with its overseas operation of Call of Duty: Mobile for the past year will help the game succeed in this market. Tencent is positioning the title as a key shooter IP alongside other key games such as Peacekeeper Elite and CrossFire. The company is already growing the esports ecosystem for the game with the first invitational taking place today and multiple esports organisations signing on.
