League of Legends: Wild Rift continues to release new champions and this time its Wukong, an Ionian champion, now the 50th champion to be added to the game. Riot had previously announced The Monkey King along with Draven and Darius as the new releases for this patch. He is being released with Volcanic and General skins. Riot released a champion spotlight showcasing his’s gameplay. He is very similar to his PC counterpart except for the passive. In Wild Rift Wukong’s passive, Crushing Blows, applies up to 4 stacks for bonus damage.

While his first ability Golden Staff is called Wuju Style in the PC version, the ability is pretty much the same.

The missions involve playing with Ionian and Vastayan champions to advance. There are currently eight Ionian Champions in Wild Rift, namely Ahri, Yasuo, Zed, Lee Sin, Akali, Yi, Varus and Wukong. Vastayans are a race from Runeterra which show both animal and human characteristics. Currently, there are three such champions in the game, namely Nami, Ahri, and Wukong. There were supposed ‘leaks’ saying that Riot has other Ionian champions like Karma in the pipeline. However, with The Monkey King’s release, Riot may add champions from other regions before releasing another Ionian champion.
