Team Secret announces that they're picking up Wild Rift roster in the Philippines.
The organization will likely hold tryouts in the Philippines to select some of its players for the popular mobile MOBA.

One of the most storied esports organizations in the world of Dota 2 has just announced that it is stepping foot into Wild Rift esports in the Philippines. Team Secret has announced that it is setting up a Wild Rift division, with the Philippines as their operations base.

Team Secret enters Filipino Wild Rift esports

Team Secret announced that it is picking up a Wild Rift roster in anticipation of the upcoming esports circuit, that it projects to be “exciting and action-packed.” They also stated that they aim to build a “national Champion” in the Philippines, ideally a roster that can compete and contend on the World stage.

"Our unique approach to building Champions is something we want to bring to the Filipino esports community,” said John Yao, Team Secret CEO. “I always tell people -- give us 3 seasons, and we can build a Champion team.  That's been true in our Malaysia operations, our Thailand operations, and it's happening in our Vietnam operations as well.  Come join us on this journey, and we will do our best to make PH proud as well."

Recruitment call in the near future

Team Secret has also stated that while they intend to pick up established esports talent for their Wild Rift roster, they also want to scout the Philippines for potential pro players. Hence, they will likely hold try-outs to select these players with potential.

"Stay tuned for soon to come announcements on the team, on our Secret Philippines home base, and on our recruitment call. "

Team Secret are among the first teams to jump on the Wild Rift bandwagon. Noble Esports, BOOM Esports, Bigetron Esports, and Nova Esports are just some of the many organizations that have already started to work on building new Wild Rift teams in anticipation of an esports circuit in 2021.

It is certainly interesting to see teams pick up these rosters before the game is even officially out of beta. Perhaps it is Riot Games' successful track records in titles like League of Legends and VALORANT which is causing teams to hedge their bets on Wild Rift.

It seems like a low-risk, high-reward strategy that could prove vital for these teams who are looking to establish themselves as a major force in Wild Rift's potential esports scene.
