After days of teasing, it is finally here. PUBG Mobile has just announced its total prize pool for 2021. $14 Million USD will be at stake across the next upcoming year for PUBG Mobile esports, over three times 2020’s prize pool. Along with this announcement, the Director of PUBG Mobile Esports, James Yang announced a host of new plans and structure for 2021 and gave clarity into what we could expect from the competitive side of the game, next year.

Atleast Six Major PUBG Mobile Tournaments For 2021

Like the 2020 season, PUBG Mobile will host a multitude of premier tournaments over the course of 2021. Next season will feature two PMCO tournaments, two PMPL tournaments, and a PUBG Mobile Global Championship to conclude the 2021 season. 

A mid-summer event has also been added to the PUBG Mobile calendar. Dubbed the “Invitationals” which are set to feature “various exciting events by top pro teams in regions”. More details about this new event will be announced in the future.

Huge Prize Pool For The 2021 Season

The other big announcement in this presentation was the prize pool for the PUBG Mobile 2021 season. The total prize pool for 2021 will be $14 Million USD, but the exact split for each event and subsequent tiers is currently unknown.

PUBG Mobile had already announced that it intended to expand its esports ecosystem in 2021 in several new countries. In the 2021 season, we will see seven new PMPL regions in CIS, Turkey, Western Europe, Arabia, North America, Latin America, and Brazil. These will complement existing PMPLs in South Asia and Southeast Asia. The PMCO will also see additional regions including the UK, France, UAE, Africa, Bangladesh, Nepal and Mexico, and more to reveal. 

Plans to build satellite studios in key countries around the world were also revealed previously.

2021 is shaping up to be yet another excellent year for PUBG Mobile esports with more structure, stability, and of course more money injected into the ecosystem. With the Indian version of the game also being expected to be re-released in the near future, we might see the game expand exponentially in the coming season.
