There have been numerous hints on Call of Duty: Warzone making its way to mobile. Now, it seems that we finally have the closest thing to a confirmation for now. Warzone’s subreddit’s community lead has made a subreddit for Warzone Mobile. You can check it out here - https://www.reddit.com/r/WarzoneMobile.

This development comes 2 months after Charlie Intel reported on a now-removed job listing on Activision’s website in September. The listing was posted for a Features Executive Producer for Warzone for a new mobile FPS in the Call of Duty franchise. It said, “As Executive Producer, Features you will own product framing and player experience of a new AAA mobile FPS in the Call of Duty franchise”. It added that the person has to “harvest, adapt and deliver the essential features from Warzone console and PC into their best mobile instantiation.” The company seems to have its sights set on bringing Warzone to Mobile

Activision Blizzard Looking Towards Mobile Gaming

More importantly, we could’ve seen this coming in Activision Blizzard stating that they wanted to significantly expand into mobile gaming. Recently, Activision Blizzard’s President and COO Daniel Alegre said, “enabling [Activision’s] franchises on billions of mobile devices” is “by far [its] biggest opportunity.” He also mentioned that he wanted to capitalise on this and he wanted to bring all the company’s franchises to the mobile.

This news comes after Call of Duty: Mobile, their breakout addition to the leading FPS franchise crossed 300 million downloads in just a year. Activision’s President Rob Kostich said that Activision is seeing “a big opportunity to further connect the mobile experience to what’s happening on console and PC and [this] includes Warzone.”Kostich also said that he saw China as a strong potential market for mobile expansion where Call of Duty: Mobile has been approved and is now in “final testing”. He also revealed that Mexico and Brazil are the top five markets for them in terms of installs and revenue.
