Ghatak Appeals To The Indian Govt. After PUBG Mobile Ban

PUBG Mobile, which is officially listed in the Google Play Store as PUBG MOBILE Nordic Map: Livik has been banned along with PUBG MOBILE LITE. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology put out a press release announcing the ban. This has left the whole Indian esports ecosystem for PUBG Mobile shook. TSM Entity’s Ghatak tweeted out today, tagging the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology requesting them to ‘take into consideration the chance of letting us play this event from a different region’.

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology had previously stated that it had ‘received many complaints from various sources including several reports of misuse of some mobile apps’.The apps have been banned for allegedly ‘stealing and surreptitiously transmitting users’ data in an unauthorised manner to servers which have locations outside India’.

TSM Entity Conducts Livestream On 2nd September

TSM Entity Ghatak had previously tweeted out:

He had spoken to fans about the PUBG Mobile ban on a livestream on 2nd September. He said as someone who is patriotic and loves his country, it is important to stand with the nation. He also said that we know that data was going to China and India was one of the biggest markets for PUBG Mobile. He estimates that around 60% of PUBG Mobile’s player base is Indian. TSM Entity’s manager Sid also commented on the situation saying, “Let’s Chill, the game was also banned in Pakistan and later unbanned. Don’t panic so much, everything will be alright. If one door closes, another opens. If it doesn’t, we’ll break it down and enter.” Sid also said later that the Prime Minister is aware of how many people rely on PUBG Mobile for their livelihoods and if he has taken such a decision, there is a reason behind the PUBG Mobile Ban. However, it seems that the ban has definitely left the team concerned as their year's worth of training has been thwarted.

Reports suggest that Tencent has lost $34 Billion in market value since India banned PUBG Mobile and in an emailed statement to the Business Insider, the company said that they were 'looking forward to engaging with the Indian authorities to clarify their long-established policy and action in protecting user data in hoped to ensure the continued availability of their products in the India'.
