Nova Esports' latest Instagram post hints at some new development in the Indian PUBG MOBILE scene. Unconfirmed sources are saying they will be taking team GodLike’s current roster under their wing. The Hong Kong-based mobile-focused esports organisation, Nova Esports, is a familiar face in the gaming industry.
Nova Esports Origins
Initially founded as a passion project, it quickly became the top clan family in Clash Royale in May of 2016. From here they started growing and soon started expanding in the following September into other mobile titles. Nova Esports has had players and rosters for Clash Royale, PUBG MOBILE, Arena of Valor, Clash of Clans, and League of Legends. Nova Esports has a number of achievements to their name. Their squads have been CRL World Champions 2018, 4X CRL China Champions, and in the PMCO 2019 Fall Season World Championship, they stood at Rank 6.

Nova Esports coming into PUBGM India?
Since their expansion into newer games, Nova Esports hasn’t limited themselves to their origin country. Nova Esports has a South American and European Arena of Valor team. Now, it looks like they are all set to continue their over-the-border expansion, this time by entering the Indian PUBG MOBILE scene.
In their teaser, they show footage from the game, with the iconic PUBG theme music playing in the background. This cuts to Nova Esports’ logo that flickers and puts on the colours of the Indian flag. They also give us the date on when we can expect an announcement from their side so mark your calendars for 26th of this month.
It’s interesting to note that Nova Esports has a PUBG MOBILE roster that is made of Taiwanese players and a few from Hong Kong. Their performance in the Chinese scene has been noteworthy with some decent placements in their tournaments. Some of their achievements are winning the PMCO Spring Split: Wildcard 2019 and coming in 2nd place at the PMCO Fall Split: Wildcard Semi-Finals 2019.
Now, it seems that Nova Esports is ready to bring their expertise into the growing Indian space. While we cannot confirm it currently, sources point towards GodLike’s roster being picked up by the Hong Kong organisation. GodLike offers a promising roster filled with talented and well-known players that have been a part of the Indian scene for quite some time now. Their latest achievement includes qualifying for PUBG MOBILE World League by coming 3rd in PUBG MOBILE South Asia Pro League. This achievement surely tells us a lot about their potential, and coming under Nova Esports’ management is perhaps the next big step for them.
While this is speculation, it is certainly nice to see an international organisation as good as Nova Esports making a move in the growing Indian PUBG MOBILE space. After Fnatic and TSM have firmly established teams in India, how Nova Esports handles their team and what resources are available to the players is something to be seen.
