Visa issues and Scheduling conflicts as Indian teams once again struggle to play internationally
- Entity Gaming players are playing under a new tag, Velocity Gaming
- Orange Rock and Velocity are both playing the PMCO Soth Asia Group stage matches till the 29th
- Additionally, it is rumoured that players from both teams have had visa issues
Three Indian teams were supposed to represent their country at the ESL Vodafone 5G Mobile Open in Milan on the 29th of September but all three teams had issues securing visas. While Synergy Gaming looks likely to be making the trip, both Entity Gaming who seem to have rebranded as Velocity Gaming and Orange Rock Esports are yet to confirm their status. It’s not just visa issues but a key clash in schedules that is also likely to hinder ETG and OR’s plans of attending the tournament.
Earlier this week, we learnt that Synergy Gaming have recruited the help of popular streamer Gunshot to replace a player who had trouble securing a visa. For OR an ETG, there are unconfirmed reports that some players have managed to get their Italian visas but for some players, it has been rejected. Both teams will also struggle to fit the tournament in their schedules as well with the PMCO South Asia Qualifiers taking place till the 29th of September.
ETG who are playing with the tag Velocity Gaming are in Group B of the PMCO South Asia qualifiers while Orange Rock are in Group D. While all groups don’t have to play every day, it is possible that either one of the teams do have games on the 29th. It will also make it difficult for the players to re-do their applications and reapply as they will have to put in a lot of focus in their games.
Velocity have already begun their games at the PMCO South Asia Qualifiers, and it seems almost certain that even Orange Rock are going to play as well. It’s probably a better decision to try and qualify for PMCO Fall as it isn't a third party tournament, unlike the ESL Mobile Open ,and with South Asia getting more slots in the finale, both these teams stand a better chance of representing their country and their teams on the grandest stage for PUBG Mobile.
However the Vodafone 5G, ESL Mobile Open is still a big tournament, featuring a 180,000 USD prize pool and could be easy money for a good team, considering that a lot of the teams playing in it are relatively unknown. More on this story to follow ….
