COD Mobile zombies mode is one of the many game modes available in Activision’s mobile shooter. The modes are usually part of the featured game modes which can be played only for a limited time. As of now, the COD Mobile zombies modes aren’t available in Season 1 New Order but keep an eye out for the mode in the next season. COD Mobile introduced zombies in November 2019, during season 2 of the game so there is a chance it will be brought back for the ‘new’ Season 2. Players can unlock COD Mobile zombies mode after hitting level 5, and the classic mode is about surviving for as long as possible alone. Players also had an option to play the Raid Mode, where players must complete a number of waves before they faced a final boss, called Shi No Numa: the Abomination.
COD Mobile Zombies mode is also what some players colloquially call the Attack of the Undead mode. This mode has been making the rounds of the featured game modes in the game for a while now and was first introduced in Radioactive Agent, the seventh season for Call of Duty: Mobile.
When can I play COD Mobile Zombies mode again?
Originally a downloadable map in the zombies mode within Call of Duty: World at War, Shi No Numa was brought to the mobile game. A session of COD Mobile zombies mode can be played alone or with up to three other players. You and your teammates will begin a game with only a pistol and a knife. These will be used to protect you against the hordes of undead creatures. After taking damage, your character will regenerate health if they do not take any more damage for five seconds. The roaming undead can appear through windows, which can be boarded up to hinder their progress. Standing near a window will board it up automatically. Boarding windows and killing zombies are the two primary ways of earning points. These points can be used to open new areas, purchase wall weapons, weapons from mystery boxes, Perk-a-Colas, and buffs. However, it was removed from the game permanently in March 2020.
In the Community Update on Feb 29th, COD Mobile developers officially announced the removal of the mode. In the community update, they stated:
“We had always mentioned it was limited but with no explicit end-date. We wanted to see the reception, see the feedback, and see how we can potentially shape the mode for the future. However, the mode just didn’t reach the level of quality that we desire. The second map, Nacht Der Untoten, is also not releasing in the global version.”
