The Call of Duty Mobile World Championship 2020 is the first Call of Duty Mobile championship held by Activision. The tournament will determine the COD Mobile World Champions for the 2020 season. The best teams from each of the regional championships held in North America, Latin America, EU West, EU East & Asia, China, Japan and Garena (SEA/TW) will participate. The total prize pool for the tournament is $750,000.
Format Of Call Of Duty Mobile World Championship 2020
The tournament follows a best of 5 series with different game types played across different maps. Hardpoint was played on Crash, Crossfire, Standoff and Summit. Domination was played on Firing Range, Meltdown and Standoff and Search & Destroy happened on Crossfire, Firing Range, Meltdown and Standoff.
Call Of Duty Mobile World Championship 2020 featured in-game qualifiers, conducted in multiple stages. During stage 1, players ranked Veteran or higher competed in 10 Solo ranked matches per weekend to gain qualifying points. Players who earned 80 points qualified for Stage 2. Here, each of the qualifying players received a ‘Team License’ and formed a complete team of 5, competing in up to 30 Team ranked matches to gain qualifying points. The top 512 teams from each region with most points and which completed all 30 matches qualified for Stage 3 of the Call Of Duty Mobile World Championship 2020.
Bracket qualifiers followed with Stage 3. All the matches were played best of 5 in a closed bracket format. The top 2 teams in Stage 3As qualified for Stage 4. The top 4 teams in Stage 3B also qualified to Stage 4.
Stage 4 onwards, the regional playoffs of Call Of Duty Mobile World Championship 2020 are scheduled to take place in September and October. The Regional Playoffs are a series of live events fans can watch online. The best players in the world will go head to head in a double-elimination bracket tournament. Millions of players around the world competed during stages 1-3 with the goal of qualifying for Stage 4: Regional Playoffs. These players grinded their way through Solo player qualifications, placing in the top teams in their region and finally going head to head. The top 8 teams in each region were invited to participate in the Regional Playoffs of the Call Of Duty Mobile World Championship 2020.

Regional Playoffs for Call Of Duty Mobile World Championship 2020
The Regional Playoffs will be broken into two sets of brackets: the winner's bracket and the elimination bracket. Each team will begin in the winner's bracket, but once they lose, they will enter the elimination bracket where they still have an opportunity to make it to the finals. If a team loses in the elimination bracket, they are eliminated from the Regional Playoffs of Call Of Duty Mobile World Championship 2020. If the team with one loss wins in the finals, both teams will each have one loss and another game will be played to determine the champion. The prize pool for each Regional Playoffs is set as follows:
- 1st Place: $15,000
- 2nd Place: $10,000
- 3rd Place: $8,000
- 4th Place: $5,000
- 5th – 6th Place: $3,500
- 7th – 8th Place: $2,500
Fans can watch the action-packed Regional Qualifiers for the Call Of Duty Mobile World Championship 2020 in Japan and Latin America from 26th to 27th September. In Western Europe, the Regional Qualifiers will be broadcast from 17th to 18th October and in North America, they will be shown from 24th to 25th October.
For the Garena region, each country replaced the Global Qualifiers for Call Of Duty Mobile World Championship 2020 with a branded National Championships leading up to the Garena Regionals. In Thailand, the National Championship was called ‘Ultimate Warfare’ and was held from 12th to 13th September and Daivo. Free Slot emerged as the #1 seed. From Indonesia, DG Esports was victorious in the Major Series Season 3. South-East Asia has 3 seeds, namely Divinity.Uprising, NRX Jeremiah 29:11 and 21 Huntsmen while the Taiwan Summer Championship was won by FunPlus Phoenix.
